Panasonic P 02E spotted in server logs could be the company’s attempt at a 1080p Full HD smartphone
Panasonic might not necessarily be a brand that comes to mind when thinking of Android smartphones, although the Japanese company did try their hand at leaving a mark in Europe with the Eluga earlier this year. Now it looks like there is a chance that they could be going for round 2 as according to reports, Panasonic could be set to launch a 1080p Full HD smartphone in 2013, joining the ranks of other manufacturers like Samsung, LG and Sony. The device currently has the model number P-02E and the only evidence of it ever existing is thanks to a server log which revealed its 1920×1080 resolution, and the fact that it was running on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
As some of you guys might recall, Panasonic announced not too long ago that they would be retraining their focus back to their homeland of Japan, so if anything we expect that the P-02E will most likely be launched in Japan and will not be seen in the US or Europe for that matter. Who knows, the P-02E could also be Panasonic’s last attempt at making a mark on the European or US markets, but either way we’ll have to wait and see.
